I. ABOUT GAMIFICATION
At Sports University we believe training and development should be fun and effective. So, we added gamification to all of our SkillPacks and ATC Program curricula. Now, as athletes dive into ATS, go to WAR, and accomplish their training goals, they can earn Position Ranks, SkillPack Badges, ATC Achievements, and more.
And, thanks to our superior approach to training and development, you can be sure that as athletes rank up, earn SkillpPack Badges, and ATC Achievements, everything they accomplish will translate to the playing field.
II. ATC ACHIEVEMENTS
ATC Achievements can be earned at any time by uploading videos of yourself performing ATC Challenges to the Timeline in your Training Driveâ„¢. For ATS clients, you can submit one (1) free snapshot, per achievement type per 12-Week Cycle. With ATS Complete, you can submit as often as you’d like.
EXAMPLE ATC ACHIEVEMENTS.
VERTICAL JUMP.
STANDING BENCH.
POWER SQUAT.
40 SPEED.
III. SKILLPACK BADGES.
There are a number of sport and position-specific SkillPack Badges athletes can earn.
- LV-1 SkillPack Badges are earned by completing the courses and quizzes inside of your LV-1 SkillPacks.
- LV-2 SkillPack Badges are earned by filming yourself performing LV-2 SkillPack METLEs and uploading them to the Timeline in your Training Drive. In the video, athletes must demonstrate LV-2 MTR-F of the specific SkillPack Badge they are trying to achieve. LV-2 SkillPack Badges will not be awarded until all LV-1 SkillPack Badges have been earned. *See your LV-2 SkillPacks for complete instructions.
- LV-3 SkillPack Badges are earned by filming yourself performing LV-2 SkillPack METLEs and uploading them to the Timeline on your Training Drive. In the video, athletes must demonstrate LV-3 MTR-F of the specific SkillPack Badge they are trying to achieve. LV-3 SkillPack Badges will not be awarded until all LV-1 SkillPack Badges have been earned. *See your LV-2 SkillPacks for complete instructions.
- For LV-4 achievements, see Combat Patches, below.
- For LV-5 achievements, see Combat Patches, below.

V. COMBAT PATCHES.
Combat Patches can be attempted at any time, by purchasing an ADR. The difference between a Combat Patch and an LV Rank is as follows:
- LV Ranks are awarded based on an athlete’s ability to execute METLE + MTR-F in training environments.
- LV Ranks can be earned through ATS, ATS Complete, and or ADR Snapshots.
- Combat Patches can only be awarded through the submission of game film. Due to the amount of time required to analyze all of the game film required to produce an accurate Combat Rating, Combat Patch submissions require an ADR.
- Based on the provided game film, an athlete’s AODs and FX are processed, resulting in the calculation of their Combat Rating.
- Based on the resulting Combat Rating, athletes are awarded the corresponding Combat Patch.
A Combat Patch is superior to an LV Rank, because, the level of patch received is based on an athlete’s in-game performance. The reason for a Combat Patch and LV Rank is that in order for training to be effective, it has to translate to an athlete’s ability to perform as well as they do in training, during an actual game, and regardless of the level of competition. Thus, as far as development goes, we have to first be able to identify whether an athlete is even capable of performing METLEs with LV-3 MTR-F (LV RANK) in training before we could possibly understand, and or prescribe any training actually capable of addressing the FX we’re seeing during an actual game (Combat Patch).
EXAMPLE COMBAT PATCHES.
- LV-1 COMBAT PATCH. Awarded to an athlete who receives a Combat Rating of 1 or 2.
- LV-2 COMBAT PATCH. Awarded to an athlete who receives a Combat Rating of 3 or 4.
- LV-3 COMBAT PATCH. Awarded to an athlete who receives a Combat Rating of 5 or 6.
- LV-4 COMBAT PATCH. Awarded to an athlete who receives a Combat Rating of 7 or 8.
- LV-5 COMBAT PATCH. Awarded to an athlete who receives a Combat Rating of 9 or 10.
