Get The Invite.
✅ Perform well in high school games.
✅ Email camp organizers with your film and stats.
In your film, it should be obvious that you’re dominant. Another thing to remember when putting your film together. The flames and circles make it easier to lock in on you at the beginning of the play, but if you didn’t use the flames or circle to identify yourself, could whoever’s watching the film still spot the highlight? And, would they be like oh ish, in response to the play? These are the types of highlights and film rolls you should be sending.
✅ Have your high school coach vouch for you.
✅ Post your stats and film on social media.
Show Out.
We can’t stress the importance of being ready to show up to camps and show out. Camps are not where you go when you need development, they’re where you go to demonstrate that everyone else in attendance needs development. For example:
✅ Speed.
If the position you play requires speed, but you’re not fast enough to impress… don’t go sell them on how slow you are. Because, regardless of how “good” you might actually be, the only thing you sold them on was how slow you are.
✅ Other ATCs.
If the position you play requires height… don’t go to that camp short with a 20″ vertical. Now, if you’re 5’10, fast or quick as lightning, with a 36″ vertical, and can catch anything in the air… that’s a completely different story.
✅ Specific Skills.
If the position you play requires the ability to block… don’t show up to that camp weak, with no footwork, getting blown up off the line every snap.
Get Serious.
If you’re serious about being recruited, don’t waste your time attending camps when you don’t possess any of the skills or qualities colleges and universities are looking for. Instead, spend that time and money developing those abilities. Then, when you’re ready… go show out!
